What Is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy, also called acoustic wave therapy, delivers mechanical sound waves through a handheld device across the skin surface. These waves stimulate local circulation and support the body’s natural tissue response without needles or incisions. Education remains wellness-oriented and avoids medical cure claims while helping you understand what the therapy is designed to support.

Shockwave Therapy FAQs

What does shockwave therapy do?

Shockwave Therapy uses focused acoustic waves to support circulation and the body’s natural tissue response in targeted areas. It is designed for comfort and recovery support, not as a medical cure.

Most people describe a mild tapping or pulsing sensation. Intensity is adjusted to keep the session comfortable.

Sessions are typically short, often around 15–20 minutes depending on the area treated and your plan.

Many people plan for a series, depending on goals and response. We recommend a schedule during your consultation and adjust as needed.

Downtime is usually minimal. Some people experience temporary tenderness or sensitivity in the treated area.

Shockwave Therapy may not be recommended for individuals with implanted electronic devices or certain medical conditions. Your consultation helps confirm whether it is appropriate for you.
